Oklahoma's film industry continues to evolve as local filmmakers expand beyond traditional production and into content distribution and technology. Oklahoma natives Brent Ryan Green ("The Chosen," "The Unbreakable Boy") and Jesse Liddell (former EVP of LD Entertainment) have launched Lighthouse Verticals, an Oklahoma-based micro drama platform created to deliver faith-centered, family-friendly short-form storytelling.

The news of this launch reflects the rapid growth of the vertical storytelling market with four vertical productions already completed and six slated to film in Oklahoma this year alone. Backed by Tim Tebow's Studio316 and produced in partnership with Snow Story Productions, Lighthouse Verticals is positioning Oklahoma at the forefront of this emerging segment of the entertainment industry. The accompanying app is expected to launch this fall, offering serialized programming alongside community-focused features designed to engage audiences beyond the screen.

In addition to creating new content, Lighthouse Verticals represents a growing Oklahoma-based entertainment business with the potential to generate ongoing production activity, attract industry investment and create jobs. With three projects already scheduled to film in Oklahoma this summer, the company demonstrates how homegrown talent is building innovative businesses that contribute to the state's expanding film economy.

Meridian Tech introduces The Producer’s Path, an all-new series of weekend workshops for students wanting to further their careers. These advanced courses are taught by department heads and local film professionals. The first class begins on August 29.

Offering both online and in-person courses, The Church Studio Institute is perfect for any musician ready to take their knowledge to the next level. Students can learn pro tools basics, fundamentals of sound, music production, music business foundations and more. Enrollment is ongoing.

OKMPA’s The Pitch Lab Intensive | Sept. 26
The Oklahoma Motion Picture Alliance's The Pitch Lab Intensive is a quarterly workshop designed to prepare participants for success at the forthcoming PitchFest+ Annual Meeting. Whether you're developing a feature, television pilot or making a first-time leap into the film industry, The Pitch Lab Intensive will provide mentor-led breakout sessions, peer-reviewed loglines, live pitch exercises and real-time feedback to strengthen every element of the pitch—from story and one-sheet to presentation and personal brand.

Bandwagon Bricktown Music Fest has an open call for bands for their upcoming festival on September 12. Live performances will take place across Bricktown in outdoor and indoor venues.

SeriesFest applications are now open for Shondaland’s Women Directing Mentorship Program. This program offers the prestigious opportunity to shadow a director on an episode of a Shondaland original series.
