Georgia Tech has earned a STARS Gold Rating in recognition of its sustainability achievements from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). STARS, the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System, measures and encourages sustainability in all aspects of higher education.

| Fernandes Named Interim Vice President for Finance and Planning, Chief Financial Officer |
Jamie Fernandes, executive director for Institute Budget Planning and Administration, has been selected as interim vice president for Finance and Planning and chief financial officer for the Institute. This announcement follows Jim Fortner’s appointment to the role of vice president and deputy chief business officer earlier this year.
Fernandes will begin her new role on June 1. She will report directly to Shantay N. Bolton, executive vice president for Administration and Finance, and join the president’s cabinet.

Fall Education Assistance Applications Open June 15 |
Starting June 15, eligible staff members can apply for education assistance through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and Staff Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Program (STRAP). All applications for TAP and STRAP must be completed and approved through the Administrative Services portal no later than 5 p.m., July 15.
To help you navigate the application process, the Administrative Services Center (ASC) has created several helpful resources. For a step-by-step guide on how to submit your application, check out the Education Assistance Application Toolkit. Managers and supervisors can find detailed information on how to approve applications in the Education Assistance Approver Toolkit. You can also access all information session recordings on MediaSpace.

| Call for Programs for 2024 Week of Welcome |
Week of Welcome, happening Aug. 12 – 18, is a fun and engaging week filled with opportunities for new students to get acquainted with campus, peers, and Atlanta before classes start.

Cost of Living Adjustment Coming July 1
|
Georgia’s Fiscal Year 2025 Budget includes a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for full-time, benefit-eligible state employees. Effective July 1, eligible Georgia Tech employees will receive a 4% increase to base salary, not to exceed $3,000. Georgia Tech Human Resources recently hosted a town hall to address campus questions and provide a general overview of the FY25 COLA.
