The Georgia Tech Police Department (GTPD) continues to set the standard for university public safety by implementing cutting-edge advancements in emergency communications. Most recently, GTPD became the first 911 call center within the University System of Georgia to integrate live caller video application capabilities, transforming how emergency calls are handled on campus. 

Campus construction projects are moving forward as planned with a new interactive tool to track the progress of each project. 

The Georgia Tech Sustainable Procurement Guide, developed in partnership with the Office of Sustainability and the Office of Procurement and Business Services, provides faculty, staff, and departments with actionable recommendations to make environmentally responsible purchasing decisions. 

Community members are invited to a virtual discussion and walkthrough of the guide on Monday, March 3, from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Click here for event details. 

Georgia Tech now offers certificate-based authentication on its wireless network, eduroam. Through self-service configuration, students, faculty, staff, and visitors can securely access the network by downloading a unique digital certificate for each of their devices. This process will replace the existing eduroam authentication process — via username and password credentials — by the start of the summer semester. 

Employee Appreciation Day is our annual celebration of the incredible people who make Georgia Tech a great place to work. After a successful launch last year, we're thrilled to keep the tradition going with a full week of activities, giveaways, and appreciation! Starting on Monday, March 3, faculty and staff can enter a drawing for a chance to win exclusive Georgia Tech memorabilia and unique experiences. 

The Staff Council's "Council Connect" initiative is a new engagement program designed to strengthen support and advocacy for all employees. By hosting interactive tabling and in-person events, Council members aim to foster a welcoming environment where staff can openly discuss questions, concerns, and ideas for workplace improvements.

All faculty, staff, and students who are active employees as of Jan. 1 are required to complete the 2025 Spring Biannual Compliance Training by 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, Feb. 28.

Eligible employees who have not completed the required training (all 4 parts) have received email reminders throughout the month. 

Employees have until March 31 to complete both the 2024 Annual Performance Evaluations and the 2025 Goal Setting processes. For helpful resources, including videos and timelines, visit the Performance Management @Tech website for more information including how to set your S.M.A.R.T. goals.

Eligible full-time faculty and staff are encouraged to apply for education assistance through the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and Staff Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Program (STRAP). These programs are designed to support your professional development and help you achieve your educational goals by providing tuition and mandatory fee waivers or reimbursements. The application period for the summer semester is March 15 – April 15.

Nearly 550 attended the February A&F Virtual Town Hall to learn more about the University System of Georgia’s (USG) Unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Project – a transformative initiative that seeks to improve the user experience for faculty and staff by standardizing and unifying financial and human resource information systems across all 26 institutions within the USG.
