A Positively Different Public School

October 29, 2018                  Vol. 14  Issue 7
The school newsletter is sent out on Mondays. When there is a holiday, the newsletter is sent the following day.

Please note:  Send news to deb.rosner@ecsnj.org by 9:00 AM on Mondays.
Our kick-off community meeting for the school year 2018-2019 school year will be on Friday, Nov 9 at 8:45 am in the GYM.  Looking forward to seeing as many as you as possible.
Basketball season has arrived!
Some news about Basketball teams this year at Elysian:
• All Elysian students are welcome to play. Our goal is for all of our players to have fun, learn new basketball skills and strategies and show good sportsmanship. Being on a team is memorable and should be a highlight of the school year.
• Teams are formed by grade this year. Third thru eighth grade teams are forming now. If you would like for your child to participate, please sign them up. Forms were sent home with all of the information about how to register with Hoboken rec dept. Additional forms are in the main office.
• The teams will be coached by parent/s who will co-coach with staff, when available.
• The schedule for games and practices will be available soon.
I look forward to seeing the teams in action and seeing all the kids on the court.
Time To Register Siblings For Kindergarten In 2019-2020!

We need to know how many places to reserve for our siblings.  Please let us know now!

The lottery will be held this year on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  In order for your spot to be guaranteed, you must turn in your application by the deadline of January 11, 2019.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE FOR PTSO DUES - Enjoy the Halloween Party? Did you know that your dues go toward funding the free Halloween Party, as well as the many free or low-cost events that the PTSO puts on every year? PTSO dues envelopes have been sent home, but if you did not receive one, please email elysianptso@gmail.com or send in your donation in a regular envelope, with your contact information on the outside. To help fund the PTSO, we are suggesting all families contribute $25 per child in dues. Please return the envelope with cash or check made out to Elysian PTSO to the main office. PayPal is still not accepting payments, so at this time we are suggesting sending your donation in an envelope to the office. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Parent Volunteer Survey
Elysian Charter School was founded by parents and continues to run with strong family involvement. Both the PTSO and Friends of Elysian can use the help of the parent community in numerous ways. We must mark all children absent who are not in attendance.
