Faculty Achievement

Professor May Santiago was featured in The George.  "My earliest memories are of horror films," she says, "and the first movie I ever saw was Predator, which shaped part of my personality."  We appreciate Professor Santiago's dedication to her work, her students, and the several fields - horror movies, Puerto Rican culture and history, academic studies, and experimental filmmaking - that she's in the process of changing.  To read the article, click here.
Professor Nikyatu Jusu has announced she will expand her 2019 short film Suicide By Sunlight into a feature film for Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions and Universal Pictures.  To learn more, click here.
Professor Peter H. Kimball's new short film, Millstone, supported by a Robert K. Purks Faculty Enrichment Fund grant, will premiere at Slamdance Film Festival in January 2023.  To learn more about Slamdance, click here.

Professor KJ Mohr guest curated (and will introduce) two upcoming archival film screenings at the National Gallery of Art celebrating the career of Carmen Amaya.  Don't miss the December 17th screening of María de la O, which will be shown on a 35mm print on special loan from the Filmoteca Española.
