Message from the President - June 2017
As June comes to a close, our campus continues to buzz with Summer activity. Our Summer Session I concluded last week and we kicked off Summer Session II on June 26. Our Summer sessions are a great opportunity for current students to get ahead, for our local high school students to take classes, and for our community to pursue a special interest.
Coming up next month, we have a few spectacular community events we hope you will join us for! On July 4, SBCC will be hosting our first family-friendly 4th of July event. Join us on the West Campus lawn or on the East Campus at the Winslow Maxwell Overlook for food, face-painting, and fun. Food trucks will be on site from 4-8pm and a $10 parking fee will support SBCC Athletics. Stay to catch prime views of the fireworks show at the Santa Barbara Harbor.
Next, on July 31 join us for a magnificent evening at La Playa Stadium to hear the New York Philharmonic. This community concert is brought to Santa Barbara in partnership with SBCC, the SBCC Foundation, the Music Academy of the West, the New York Philharmonic and the City of Santa Barbara. You can still get your tickets through the Music Academy website at musicacademy.org.
We are proud to bring these events to our community. We hope to see you there!
