Brand New PENCIL Van

Thanks to the generous support and vision of Nissan, PENCIL now has a brand new van to assist with delivering school supplies, picking up donations and much more. During the fall semester, the van will begin picking up donations for the LP PENCIL Box.

Box is Stocked - Ready for Fall Shopping

Teacher shopping for the fall will kick off on Thursday, August 3rd. 1,000 MNPS teachers and faculty have already registered to shop the Box - if you haven't booked your appointment yet, be sure to do so soon!

Volunteer at the Box

As teacher shopping kicks off for the year, the LP PENCIL Box is in need of any and all volunteers to help make it happen. Shifts are fun, exciting and rewarding as you help re-stock the shelves, assist teachers with check out and support the staff throughout an evening of shopping.

Summer Interns Bid Farewell

As the summer comes to a close, PENCIL has said goodbye to the five wonderful Opportunity Now Summer Interns who spent the summer working on a number of projects, including the development of partnership videos that tell the PENCIL Partner and Academies of Nashville story from a student's perspective.

We have been honored to have these ladies with us this summer and are sad to see them go. Know we are rooting for you and you'll always be part of the PENCIL family!

PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY

Principal for a Day is an exclusive, invitation-only event that offers the opportunity for PENCIL Partners, donors, business and community leaders to spend the morning with a Metro principal.

As a Principal for a Day, you will meet the school's students and staff throughout the morning in a series of activities unique to each school. The day concludes with a luncheon for principals and their guests. We want our city's leaders to see the great things happening within our schools as we work to change the dialogue about public education in Nashville.

Principal for a Day is one of a number of opportunities offered to our $500 and above giving level.
