What's New

UMA Rockland Now Open

Safe Return Plan in Place

Our plan was developed in coordination with UMA and UMS policies and procedures and ensures that our top priority is the safety of our students, staff, faculty, and our URock community.
Continued Use of Virtual Services is Encouraged:  We encourage you to continue using our virtual support services (phone, email, Zoom) whenever possible. Due to social distancing requirements, the number of students allowed at the Center at any one time has been significantly reduced. If you plan to come to the Center, please call ahead and schedule.
Visiting the Center:
- Face coverings will be required of everyone at all times. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a face covering, please continue to receive support services virtually (phone, email, Zoom) and take online, Zoom, or delay view ITV classes from home in the fall.
- You will be asked to follow all safety procedures while at the Center. And, you will have to sign in and out of the Center so that we can do "contact tracing" should you or someone else be later diagnosed with COVID-19.
Computer Lab Access:  Appointments will be required to use computers at the Center. Plan your time and call ahead.

Visitors Asked to Sign In/Out at Center

All visitors - students, faculty (when there during non-class time), prospective students, etc - are required to stop at the front office to sign in upon entering UMA Rockland. We will be asking for your name & phone number so that we can do 'contact tracing' should you or someone else be later diagnosed with COVID-19. We will also be requiring that you sign out at the office when leaving for the day.  Please allow yourself those extra couple minutes so that we can keep track of our visitors!

Brightspace Will Replace Blackboard as Course Support

Happening this Fall Semester

Courses in the University of Maine System are supported by a Learning Management System which includes critical course information such as the syllabus, assignments, discussion boards, and more. To help prepare for the transition, a Brightspace Orientation for Students course is available now and many more Brightspace student resources will be available in the coming days.
• Log into the UMA portal
• In the LaunchPad, click on the Brightspace icon
• From the top nav bar, click on Discover
• Then click on the UMA Student Orientation to Brightspace
You can also learn more about Brightspace through these quick orientation videos.
