Dear Traveler:

Autumn in the mountains is a regular feast for the senses. Cool breezes, warm sun, the closing performance of the Great Leaf Extravaganza and the scent of smoke and spice and holidays just around the corner. It’s enough to tempt the taste buds and whet the appetite for what comes next--whether that’s another trip down the single-track or a second helping of pumpkin pie (and I don’t mind if I do, thank you very much).

Transylvania County is a delightful place to wile away the weeks, days and hours before the turkey comes out of the oven. We have plenty to be thankful for--beautiful weather, gorgeous scenery, fantastic music, exquisite art, excellent adventure and of course, all our visitors, no matter who they are, no matter where the come from and no matter what they choose to explore once they get here.  We hope you have as much fun as we do.

Happy Turkey!

Some are born to greatness. Others reluctantly rise (off the sofa) and up the trails of this epic mountain bike race. A gorgeous course full of cursing climbs and giggling descents through a dramatic landscape, but short enough for the not-exactly-elite mountain bikers to give it a go. Delicious food, cold beer and a warm bonfire waits at the finish line.
