| Remembering Judy Heumann, z"l: Champion of the Disability Rights Movement
Federation is deeply saddened by the passing of Judith "Judy" Heumann, z"l, widely regarded as the mother of the disability rights movement, on March 4th at the age of 75. Judy had an immense impact on the local and national disability community, leading the way for the passage of national disability rights legislation, founding international disability advocacy organizations, and serving in senior federal government positions. Her dedication to disability advocacy will serve as a model for generations to come. May Judy’s family, friends, and loved ones be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may her memory be for a blessing.
