What Happens When You Write a Quick Answer That Confuses Everyone?
We do what we're doing now: write another one the next day and try to clear up the turmoil we've caused.
So, regarding
yesterday's Quick Answer about the growing number of local hotspots...
We were simply urging people
who live in and are commuting from a local hotspot — such as
the ones identified in NYC and surrounding counties, or similar zones in nearby states — to take a commonsense approach:
- If you can arrange your work or your studies so that you don't have to come into campus from a hotspot zone, try to do so for the time being.
- If you cannot make other arrangements — because you're an essential worker, because your class needs to proceed in person, etc. — then carry on as you are, but be super conscientious about mask-wearing, not coming into work when feeling sick, etc.
You're NYUers. You're smart. We trust you to use good judgment on this.
