Supporting Israeli Women
Content warning: references to sexual assault and violence.
Last week, we celebrated International Women's Day — a day first established in 1911 with the goal of building a world free of gender bias and discrimination. In his most recent reflection, Federation CEO, Gil Preuss, writes on the importance of recognizing Hamas' violence towards women on October 7th and condemns the continued intentional silence by individuals and governments around the world.

Elevate your Family's Purim Celebrations
The holiday of Purim begins at sundown on Saturday, March 23rd. Jews will celebrate by hearing the megillah (the Book of Esther, which tells the story of Purim), dressing up, sharing gifts of food with friends (mishloach manot), giving to those in need (matanot l’evyonim), and having a festive meal (seudah). Check out PJ Library of Greater Washington’s Purim resources for recipes, book lists, costume ideas, and more.
