Call for Applications: DUE TODAY
FRESSH: Fostering Research Expansion in the Social Sciences & Humanities
FRESSH is designed to help scholars in the arts, social sciences, and humanities in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences apply for and obtain external funding for their research. The program consists of workshops during the academic year during which scholars work with invited guests and each other to develop a proposal suitable for submitting to an external funding agency such as the NEH, ACLS, NSF, or a foundation or residential fellowship program outside the University of Kansas.

College Research Product Awards
These awards seek to recognize College faculty members for creating an outstanding research product that makes significant contributions to the scholar’s discipline. Depending on the discipline, the product can be a book, a book chapter, a journal article (or a set of journal articles on a theme), a presentation, a public resource, a piece of art, an exhibit, a play, etc. The award amount is $1,000, which can be paid as summer salary (taxable) or used to support research-related activities and travel. Harvard Radcliffe Institute is now accepting Fellowship Program applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Applications in humanities, social sciences, and creative arts are due by September 11, 2025, and applications in science, engineering, and mathematics are due by September 30, 2025. THATCamp 2025

THATCamp, which stands for “The Humanities and Technology Camp,” is a digital humanities unconference that was started by the Roy Rosenzweig Center for New Media with support from the Mellon Foundation. Over the course of a single day, participants from across the university community (and even beyond) come together to explore a variety of DH topics, such as generative AI, workshops for specific tools, or digital humanities pedagogy.
