BRiNC Small Business Success Series Provides Free Workshops for Local Entrepreneurs

Four virtual workshops will be delivered between two days, October 11 and 18.  Entrepreneurs can sign up for one or more workshops.
Participants will have the chance to learn from experts in the fields of high-level planning, sales, digital marketing, and human resources. 
The program includes optional one-on-one mentorship with the presenters to receive customized advice tailored to their business.
The Small Business Success Series will be delivered by outstanding business professionals such as Mark Elliot, a founder of VA Partners; Riley Moynes, Incubator Manager at The Forge Business Incubator; Katelyn Sinclair, Founder at Fresh Digital; and Ian Levitt, founder of Devreve.  
No charge to attendees.

Year of the Garden Photo Contest

Norfolk County has proclaimed 2022 as the Year of the Garden.  Submit a picture of you backyard garden, flower garden, farm stand, agricultural field etc to be entered into the Year of The Garden (YOTG) photo contest.  To enter, simply upload a photo, that you’ve taken yourself, that shows your passion for “Living The Garden Life”- in the comments below the “Official Giveaway Post” from October 5, 2022, located on the Norfolk County Tourism and Economic Development Facebook page. Upload your photos by October 16 at 11:59 p.m.

The photo can highlight a backyard garden, your favourite plant or flower, or even the beauty of a large-scale agricultural operation. The choice is yours!

Nine More Digital Transformation Grants paid to Norfolk County Businesses Recently 

Monday October 31st is the deadline to apply for the $2500 Digital Transformation Grant through the Digital Main Street program. You may apply for the grant to upgrade your online marketing or improve your ecommerce presence. Government Funding Opportunity
Three new rounds for SWODF were added recently to the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade website. 
The program supports companies, particularly SMEs, to grow, improve productivity, invest in innovation and skills development, pursue new markets, create good, sustainable jobs and generate broad positive regional impacts.

Agri-Food Forum

Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2022 Municipal Agri-Food Forum hosted by the County of Brant and OMAFRA! This year’s event theme is “Tradition, Innovation and Regeneration”.

Attendees can explore County of Brant farms and agricultural businesses that embrace technology, new crops, entrepreneurship and environmental stewardship. More information on the farms on the bus tour, accommodations and registration can be found here

WPBGE workforce survey, Examining Quality of Work, is now live! 

Through this survey, the Workforce Planning Board aims to help businesses, community organizations and local government learn more about what workers value in a workplace, and to encourage the creation of policies, partnerships and practices that strengthen work quality across the region. Respondents have a chance to win weekly prizes that support local businesses.

The Fair is Back!

The Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show is back this October, with a jam-packed Full Fair for #NCF2022. The traditions you love, some exciting new additions, and so much to see and do, celebrating all that is local to Norfolk County - Agriculture displays and demonstrations, Horse Shows, Competitions, Midway Rides & Games, FIVE nights of Motorsport action on the track, Shopping, Live music, Shows and Entertainment, - and don't forget the FAIR FOOD!
