Free challenges, direct donations, and a chance to make a difference |
During this year’s annual Spring Day of Giving, PSU students can participate in free challenges that will win money for the fund of their choice! Join in the Find Victor challenge to find Victor Viking dolls hidden on campus for a $50 donation to the fund of your choice, and the Viking Passport challenge for a chance to get $100 donated to the fund of your choice. Big thanks to the PSU Foundation board members for providing funding for these and other challenge matches!
Students, family, and friends can also donate directly. This year there are nearly 100 funds to support including resource centers, student services, programs and departments, scholarships, student support and athletics. Early bird giving is already open!

Book published by PSU students wins Oregon Book Award
|
Masters students in book publishing celebrated a significant victory last week when a book published through PSU’s student-run Ooligan Press won an Oregon Book Award. Students in the program collaborated with Josephine Woolington, author of “Where We Call Home: Lands, Seas, and Skies of the Pacific Northwest'' through every step of the publishing process from acquiring manuscripts and writing business plans to designing book covers, marketing and selling the books, and submitting books for awards. Woolington’s book about the natural and cultural histories of 10 plants and animals won the Frances Fuller Victor Award for General Nonfiction. About 30 “Oolies” past and present were in the audience to celebrate the win.

Everyone studies a little differently, however it is important to always be actively engaged in our learning. Come to the Learning Center in the Millar Library on Tuesdays from 12 - 1 p.m. (April 16 & 23) to learn how to practice self-regulation theory, as well as multiple active studying techniques.

Donate hygiene products for care kits |
Donate personal hygiene items such as bandages, lip balm and toothpaste to go in care kits for the Blanchet House, an organization that provides essential items to people experiencing houselessness. The PSU chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association is hosting the donation drive through this Friday, April 19. There are several locations on campus where donations can be dropped off.
