UAH College of Science receives $2M gift from William Henry McMullen III Trust to fund 3 chemistry initiatives |
The UAH College of Science received a $2 million gift from the William Henry McMullen III Trust to fund three initiatives in the Department of Chemistry: a graduate fellowship, a chemistry teaching laboratory and a fund to keep the chemistry labs on the cutting edge. Barbara Wadsworth, McMullen’s daughter, selected UAH for the donation to honor the memory of her father, an analytical chemist.

UAH will award an estimated 1,025 degrees during commencement on Dec. 11 at the VBC

UAH will celebrate fall 2023 commencement ceremonies by awarding an estimated 1,025 degrees on Monday, Dec. 11, at the Von Braun Center. The ceremony for the College of Education, College of Engineering and College of Nursing will begin at 10 a.m. The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; the College of Business, and the College of Science will recognize their graduates starting at 2:30 p.m.

UAH Distinguished Lecture Series speaker highlights deception as greatest threat from artificial intelligence |
The greatest threat from artificial intelligence (AI) is deception by adversarial forces, not a “Skynet”-style takeover, according to Dr. Brian Sadler, senior research scientist for intelligent systems at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, Md. He discussed possible threats from AI as featured presenter for UAH’s fall Distinguished Lecture Series.

Nine UAH men’s and women’s soccer players receive CSC Academic All-District honors
|
UAH Chargers soccer players – four from the men’s team and five from the women’s – were recently named by the College Sports Communicators to their 2023 Men's Soccer and Women's Soccer Academic All-District teams. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
