Welcome to the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) newsletter! Read on for the latest updates and news from the PBDA on grant opportunities, deadlines, and ways to support broadband efforts across the Commonwealth.

The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program application deadline closed on February 7, 2025. Review of the submitted applications is currently underway.

The second application round for the Digital Connectivity Technology Program is slated to open on April 1, 2025. Review the webinars and frequently asked questions for more information.  

Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to public-facing institutions such as:

Previously awarded applicants may apply again. Up to 200 laptops in total, may be requested between Round One and Round Two.

There are now 68 Broadband Ready Communities (BBRC) that have received their designation status. 

Learn more about Broadband Ready Communities Program and how your community can participate. Submissions are due by March 31, 2025. For questions regarding the BBRC Program, please email ra-dcbroadbandready@pa.gov. 

Carmela Burston has joined the PBDA team as the BEAD Program Manager. Carmela specializes in project management with a focus on building strong relationships with internet service providers as PBDA deploys BEAD funds for infrastructure expansion.

All PBDA Board meetings and Sub-Committee meetings are open to the public and always allow for public comment.
