A Lifelong Love of Baseball
For A.G. Rhodes elder Marvin Wiggins, baseball has been a lifelong passion, from childhood trips to Yankee Stadium to playing the game himself for many years. Today, that love of the game is as strong as ever.
Thanks to Second Wind Dreams, Marvin’s family, the Atlanta Braves, and our team at A.G. Rhodes Atlanta, Marvin recently had a dream fulfilled with a trip to see the Braves play and some very special baseball memorabilia, including a Willie Mays-style glove.
We are so grateful for all those involved in making this unforgettable experience possible for Marvin, and to reporter Monique John at CBS Atlanta for sharing this beautiful story!

Several A.G. Rhodes residents and staff recently attended a screening of Bad Whiskey Blues at Atlanta's Tara Theatre. The short documentary revisits a 1951 tragedy in which more than 400 Atlantans were poisoned by illegally produced whiskey, claiming 38 lives.
A.G. Rhodes Atlanta residents Marilyn Washington and the late Robert Barnes were featured in the film, sharing firsthand accounts of the tragedy's impact on their community and helping preserve an important piece of Atlanta's history.
Click here to watch the film's trailer. A.G. Rhodes plans to host a screening at its Atlanta community once the film becomes available.
