Clemson’s fourth Truman Scholar named; second in two years
Recognized for her commitment to improving food insecurity, Veronica “Ronnie” Clevenstine, an economics major from Greenville, was named a 2021 Truman Scholar. This marks the second year in a row for a Clemson student to receive the coveted award and Clemson’s fourth recipient in 42 years.

Health Sciences Center awards seed grant research funding to Clemson faculty
Clemson University researchers, including one in the Department of Management, have been awarded 14 seed grants from the Health Sciences Center (HSC) at Prisma Health. The grants are funding projects on various topics from health informatics and substance use disorder to addiction recovery and rare genetic diseases.

Clemson 8 Challenge raises $22k for ROTC scholarships and activities
Organizers say the inaugural Clemson 8 Challenge, the virtual remembrance march in honor of the eight Clemson alumni who survived the Bataan Death March in World War II, was a great success. The event raised more than $22,000. All of the proceeds will benefit the Clemson University ROTC Department to fund scholarships and send a group of cadets to compete in the 2022 Bataan Death March Memorial Race.
