3 MONTH AND ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP HOLDERS

The YMCA has continued to evaluate its position concerning 3 month and annual memberships that lost time due to the state mandated closure of all fitness facilities in New York between March 15th and August 30th. We understand that many of you held youth or family memberships and don't feel you will get the most out of your membership right now or you may still have health concerns regarding COVID-19. Because we want you to continue being part of our YMCA as we rebuild our programs and services it has been decided that we will extend the reactivation deadline from 12/31/20 to 3/31/21. As long as you reactivate your membership by 3/31/21 you will receive the full balance of time lost on your membership.

NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO JOIN

Commit to at least 3 full months on our monthly draft membership and receive the first 2 full months at 30% off for a household membership or 25% for an individual membership. You must remain a member for at least 3 full months.

DATA SHOWS YMCAS ARE SAFE

A message from Kyle Stewart, Executive Director of the Alliance of New York State YMCAs

The Alliance of New York State YMCAs would like to thank Governor Cuomo and his advisors for following the data and recognizing that gyms are one of the safest places to be during this pandemic. We also need to applaud our local YMCAs, their staff, volunteers, and members for diligently adhering to the state’s protocols.

The safety of our communities is paramount for all YMCAs. Since September, over 1.1 million visits have been logged at YMCAs across New York State with a positivity rate of just .003%, far less than the statewide positivity rate for gyms at .06%.

We continue to be grateful for the efforts of YMCAs to keep their communities safe. We hope that the Governor’s endorsement of gyms as a safe place will encourage New Yorkers to return to their local Y and reactivate their healthy lifestyles.

Since reopening in September, visits to the Y have decreased more than 70%. This decrease leaves us concerned for the future health and well-being of the communities we serve, as well as the sustainability of YMCAs.

We appreciate the continued support of our communities, and we look forward to welcoming our friends and members back to the Y.
