"But God." Are you ever tempted to quit? Sometimes it looks like Murphy was an optimist when he designed his law: "everything that can go wrong will go wrong."
Joseph's story feels like a commercial for Murphy's law. Thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, in charge of Potiphar's house, falsely accused, in jail. What a roller coaster ride! Notice, though that he was in the jail where the King's prisoners went.
God knew exactly where Joseph was. In fact, the Lord was with him all the way. If we write down the worst parts of our story, we may flip the script with these two simple words: "But God. . ."
Time and again life handed Joseph difficult challenges. "But God" was bigger than the problems. He still is. Remember that our God is bigger, greater, and better than our situations.
