Help Shape the Future for Utah's Homeless Pets Today

Today only, hundreds of people across Utah are coming together for 24 hours of giving during Love UT Give UT. It’s our state’s biggest-ever day of giving, and it’s your chance to join the community and make a difference in the future of the homeless pets of Utah with a donation to CAWS.
Please donate now
CAWS plays a crucial role in Utah’s future and the future of homeless pets across our state. Just ask yourself these questions:
  • Do you take comfort knowing there are people ensuring that the needs of homeless dogs and cats are taken care of every day, from providing food and shelter to live-saving surgeries?
  • Do you love your adopted dog or cat(s) and believe you are happier because they are part of your life?
  • Do you think an important part of the solution to animal homelessness is humanely trapping, spaying or neutering, and releasing community cats back into their environment?
  • Do you passionately believe than no animal should have to die simply because it is unwanted or because the animal shelter is too crowded?
  • Do you value the activities of those who lobby our elected officials on behalf of animal rights?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, please help support CAWS  so we can continue to enrich even more lives.

Where Your Donation Goes

Adoptions, foster homes, Trap Neuter Release (TNR)—CAWS volunteers work tirelessly to improve the lives of animals in need every day.
You may wonder what kind of a difference we can make in an average week. Here’s a glimpse of just a few of CAWS’ victories from the past several days:
  • Found forever homes for 12 dogs and four cats.
  • Pulled four dogs from shelters and are locating foster homes for them (one in photo below, middle).
  • Nursed back to health one dog that was pulled from a shelter after being there for two months in deteriorating health. Now he is thriving in his new foster home with his temporary pack and foster mom (photo bottom, left).
  • Rescued a blind diabetic dog that was not being treated for her illness and began working on getting the insulin levels to where they should be.
  • Neutered two dogs from a rural area and are currently looking for foster homes.
  • Drove a breed-specific dog to a rescue in Colorado, where the dog can live out its life on a ranch, getting the care he needs.
  • Took in an orphaned kitten (photo below, middle).
  • Retrieved three cats that were adopted from CAWS a decade ago but were abandoned by their prior owners in a shelter and are searching for new foster homes for them.
  • Rescued a kitty suffering from a degenerative joint disease from a shelter and are working to find a hospice foster home, as he may only have a few months of quality life left (photo below, left, may not be especially pretty in this photo, but he sure is sweet).
  • Organized this weekend’s pet adoption and dog walkers.
CAWS believes every animal has the right to a healthy life and a happy home. Our commitment to them never ends—if they were adopted 10 years ago and their owners can no longer keep them, we will take care of them again. If the animal is in poor health but can still live a few happy months, we will save them. We take the hard cases. We celebrate the successes. And we keep working every day to improve the lives of every single animal in our care.
CAWS relies solely on donations from animal lovers like you. Please consider donating today as part of Love UT Give UT. Even small donations can help add up to a big change.
Thank you so much to all of volunteers, fosters, adopters, and supporters. All of you make a better future for Utah’s homeless pets possible.
