Spotlight on Secure Community Network

In 2019, Federation brought Secure Community Network (SCN), the North American Jewish community’s official safety and security organization, to Greater Washington. Today, we partner with SCN to combat hatred and secure our community for the long-term by providing facility security assessments, trainings for community members and organizational leaders, support in applying for vital security grant dollars, and more, and proudly provide these services free of charge to our partner organizations.

Capital Jewish Museum Opening Bash

In keeping with the tradition of Jewish holidays beginning at sundown, the Capital Jewish Museum will kick off their grand opening with an opening bash the evening before the official opening. Federation, our Jewish Community Foundation, and our partners, the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), Anti-Defamation League (ADL), American Jewish Committee (AJC), and Secure Community Network (SCN), are working to combat hatred and continue to secure our community for the long-term. In March 2023, Federation’s Board approved an initial $2 million in funding to combat antisemitism over the next three years: an important step in a large-scale initiative.
