Fall is just around the corner and we've been busy preparing to bring our Vintage Treasures Auction directly to your home or workplace. We were delighted to see so many familiar faces at our first live sale in almost two years last month. But as the season turns, we are pivoting back to online sales and are delighted to be able to continue to bring you the highest quality vintage, couture, historical clothing & rare textiles.
Our Autumn Treasures Sale is now available for pre-bidding through Invaluable and LiveAuctioneers. The sale will be held on September 15th at 11am EST. You can also enter your absentee and phone bids now to have them competitively bid for you by our staff at the sale.
We are grateful to be able to continue to hold our auctions remotely and we’re certain that no matter what your vintage niche happens to be, you'll find something in our catalog to add to your collection. This sale includes exquisite vintage mid-century & modern couture, high end designer wear, rare textiles & laces, ethnic & folk costumes, vintage accessories and other timeless wearables chosen from private collectors & estates and de-accessions from a dozen museums & historical societies.
One of our favorite items is this Jean-Charles de Castelbajac dress from his Hommages Collection, A/W 1883-84. Featuring a hand hand painted portrait of Napoléon Bonaparte in shades of grey by Israeli artist Eliakim on silk ponge, this dress was exhibited in Troyes, Musée d'Art Moderne, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac pour le Musée d'Art Moderne de Troyes, May-July, 1985 & Vienna, Museum of Applied Arts Wien, Anti-körper, May-July, 1988.
