The International Student & Postdoc Career Series - Interviewing for International Students & Postdocs

Ford Foundation Fellowships Personal Statement Writing Workshop

The Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity. https://sites.nationalacademies.org/PGA/FordFellowships/index.htm *All participants will be required to submit a draft of their personal statement by noon on Monday, November 16th, 2020 to participate in this workshop.* This writing workshop is open to students applying for the Ford Foundation predoctoral, dissertation, or postdoctoral award. Public History Practicum Information Session

COVID-19 Response Survey
On Tuesday morning, all graduate students received an email from a non-UChicago email address with the following subject line: “Invitation to provide feedback on University’s response to COVID-19 and planning.” If this email is not in your inbox, please check your spam filter. UChicago Graduate Council asks you to please fill out the survey included in the email before Tuesday, November 17th. This survey will be used to analyze the University’s COVID response efforts to date, and help shape future policy. Thank you in advance for your participation.

“Picture a Scientist” Film Screening and Panel Discussion
November 13 – 15 (all day) and November 18, 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Register to watch the feature-length documentary film Picture a Scientist, which leads viewers on a journey deep into a group of women scientists' own experiences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. You'll receive a link to the film enabling you to watch it online at any time November 13 -15. You can also attend a virtual panel discussion on November 18 from 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. featuring one of the scientists from the film and several UChicago women in STEM.
