| Although parks and protected areas are essential for biodiversity, alone they cannot conserve healthy populations of animals that need huge areas to roam. Achieving large landscape conservation requires connecting core habitat areas, creating corridors that let wildlife move freely and thrive. Join Y2Y’s Conservation Scientist Aerin Jacob on a trip across the Yellowstone to Yukon region, exploring how grassroots efforts from scientists and communities can scale up to connect and protect this incredible mountain landscape.

| Founded in 2012, Hives for Humanity Society brings nature into the heart of the city where residents are living in isolation, disconnected from land, food and community. This talk will cover the why and the how of their work, get into some of the fascinating biology and communication of wild and managed species of bees, and more. We are all connected, and when we acknowledge and honour that connection we can build inclusive, healthy communities together.
