2020 Program Guidance Checklists

Wisconsin 4-H is providing examples of approved program proposals under the COVID-19 guidance. Click the button on this page to access a Google Drive folder where you will find a “List of Approved Activities.” Use the list to identify programs that may be similar to what you want to hold. Then find that program checklist in one of two folders—labeled “Club Meetings” or “Events.” Use the samples to see what approved practices helped to make those meetings or events approvable under COVID-19 guidelines.  Please reach out to Tracy if you have questions or want to submit a program proposal. For more tips on how to hold an engaging virtual meeting- see information (above) about the 4-H Meetings Reimagined training on December 8th.
Here are a few examples of what clubs have done in Fond du Lac County:
  • Club trip- Mini Golf
  • Club outing- Cornmaze/pumpkin farm
  • Drive-in meeting
  • Horseless horse meeting
  • Belling Ringing
  • Club float in Parade
  • Hybrid meeting (10 in-person & others join via Zoom)
  • Holiday Outdoor Walkthrough with Poster and Signs for Nursing Home

*Please note some criteria for in-person programs include:

  • Indoor gatherings are limited to 2 hours
  • 6 feet minimum distancing between participants is required at all times
*Can a larger group meet in person?
  • More than one group (each under 10 individuals) may meet in outdoor or multi-room locations where the groups can remain separated and physically distant.
  • Groups may use separate spaces in the same venue such as a school, library, or the community center where groups remain in different rooms and physically distant throughout the event.
  • Total numbers across all groups may not exceed 50 individuals
  • There must be a minimum of 20 feet between each group of 10 when outdoors
  • Each group must have its own staff/adult leader. Groups must remain together, staff/volunteers and youth cannot rotate between groups during a meeting or activity.
  • When making plans for outdoor gatherings it is important to have a back-up plan in case of bad weather.

4-H Family Learning Day

We are seeking volunteers and youth for the Family Learning Day committee.  Due to Covid, we may need to reimagine how Family Learning Day looks for 2021.  We are seeking volunteers and youth who have creative ideas! If interested in helping plan Family Learning Day 2021, please contact Tracy at tracy.keifenheim@wisc.edu or 608-265-2058.  The committee will be holding its first meeting in late November.

Holiday Parades

With Holiday parade season around the corner, please take the time to read through the Wisconsin 4-H Parade Policy.  Wisconsin 4-H is committed to providing safe and healthy environments for youth and adults participating in 4-H programs and activities. Preparing floats and participating in parades can be a fun way to promote 4-H, AND there are risks associated with these activities. The 4-H Parades Policy outlines expectations for managing risk associated with vehicles used in parades, as well as youth and adults riding on vehicles or walking in the parade. Please if you have any questions reach out to Tracy at tracy.keifenheim@wisc.edu or 608-265-2058.
