Congratulations Pam! 

Congratulations to Pam Bartoli as she moves into a new role as the FoodWIse Coordinator in Washington County. She will begin her new role on Feb. 14, 2022. As you know Pam is the administrative assistant in the Extension Office and has been supporting the 4-H program educator in various ways. Most of Pam's 4-H office responsibilities have been transferred to Tina Engelhardt. Once the new administrative assistant is hired, we will be sure to send out an announcement.
Please be sure to congratulate Pam if you stop by the office or see her at your next 4-H event! Best of luck to Pam in her new adventure.

Teen Leaders Association

The TLA members made 29 valentines as their community service program for the month of January. The valentines went to the residents at St. Francis Home.  
TLA is meeting for a recreational outing on Sunday, February 20, 11:00 am – 1:00 p.m. at Ledge View Nature Center, Chilton to cross-county ski. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to Tina Engelhardt

Congratulations Kennedy! 

Kennedy was chosen as an award winner for the 2021 Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Art Contest. With more than 100 entries, the contest was extremely competitive. A panel of judges chose one Best of Show; eight works as category winners, and 11 Honorable Mention awardees. Kennedy had two honorable mention award pieces which are pictured to the left.  
The Best of Show and category winners will be purchased by the Foundation and used to raise funds to support 4-H arts and communications programs, like Arts Lab, ArtBEAT! and the state communications, arts and culinary teams. The Foundation is working on an online Art Auction to be held virtually from Wednesday, April 20 until Tuesday, April 26.  

Annual Tri-County Visual Arts Festival

Everybody has a skill, a talent, an interest, or a special quality that they are passionate about. We call these things SPARKS. They provide joy, purpose, and direction. You guessed it, this year's theme is "Find your SPARKS!" Draw, paint, photograph, or create art that brings you joy, purpose, and passion!  
Scan/photograph your artwork and use this official entry form to submit your entry. Please complete a separate form for each piece of artwork that you submit. All entries must be submitted by Sunday, March 6 by 11:59 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for each category.

4-H Drama Company Continues to Accept Applications

Are you interested in drama? Take a look at this exciting statewide 4-H opportunity! The 4-H Drama Company is accepting applications until February 15, 2022.
The 4-H Drama Company is comprised of high school youth leaders from all over Wisconsin. Included in the Drama Company are actors, assistants to the director, and technicians. Drama Company Members work to learn directing and teaching techniques and create a show to be performed for delegates attending the Wisconsin Youth Conference and possibly visitors to the Wisconsin State Fair.

Applicants must be enrolled 4-H members in good standing in grades 9-12 at the time of application. Applicants must complete and submit an application form electronically by February 15, 2022. Please read the application information and instructions on this site before completing the online application. The application is located at  http://wi.4honline.com. Please note: Applications will be found under “events.”

JR Holsteins/Dairy Project News

Save the Date: Spring Educational Workshop

JR Holstein Association will be hosting a spring Educational Workshop in lieu of the annual showing and fitting workshop.  Save the date: April 16, 12 noon, at Kamphuis Farms, Brandon.  Topics will include 4H dairy judging meeting/recruitment, how to select a show heifer, and proper filling prior to and at a show.  Details will be forthcoming!

Fur, Fin, Feather: Teaching Show

Youth are invited to participate in our upcoming Fur, Fin, Feather: Teaching Show, slated for Saturday, April 30th at the Barney Center in Sparta, WI. This show is unique in the aspect that it focuses on teaching and learning. It is open to Cloverbud-13th grade, however, Cloverbuds will be under some restrictions.
