Have you been outside recently? It is exceptionally beautiful. The flowers are blooming. The birds are singing. And what’s that? Could that be a tree budding out? The white squirrels say yes, and who am I to argue? 

Even with the occasional shower (I hear they bring May flowers), April is pretty dreamy up in Transylvania County. You’d have to be a fool not to enjoy all the many things to do this month, whether music, art, adventure, or, literally, just stopping to smell the flowers. They’re springing up everywhere, just waiting for you to drop by.

Owl fans of all ages can catch up on the details with a short, educational slide show, and then caravan over to Guion Farm Shelter to try to summon these amazing creatures of the night. 

We may not all get to drive our favorite sports cars in our daily lives, but we can certainly admire them. Take in a parade of over 150 Porsches, and then wander down Main Street where the cars will be parked for viewing.

For two decades, Gorges State Park has offered visitors access to stunning views, spectacular waterfalls, and an exciting assortment of trails and recreational activity. Join them as they ring in their anniversary occasion with two days of activities, including birthday cake and a short hike on Saturday the 27th, and an informative lecture on the park’s future on the 28th.
