On Saturday, December 31, at about 7:20 p.m., the NYU Department of Campus Safety intervened in an attempted robbery that was occurring outside of Pless Hall, in Manhattan.
The complainant, an NYU faculty member, reported that they were walking past Pless Hall when two unknown people approached them, demanded money and threatened to shoot the complainant. At that time, a Campus Safety Officer intervened and brought the faculty member inside Pless Hall. The offenders left, walking on Washington Place towards Broadway. No weapon was ever brandished, no injuries were reported, and nothing was taken from the complainant. NYPD was notified of the incident.
Description of Reported Offenders: Both offenders were male-presenting and dark-complexioned, with slim builds and about 5'7" to 5'9" in height. One of the offenders was wearing a yellow hoodie and jeans. The other offender was wearing a black hat, black leather jacket and black hoodie and jeans.
