When David Schnurman asked me to serve on the EONY Board last April as Communications Chair, I was stunned. After all, I’d only been a member 2 ½ years and we’d never met! But when we did, I realized we were in total sync, with a common vision, excited to exchange ideas, suggestions, brainstorming. His energy was palpable. I signed up.
My goal as Communications Chair is to make sure every member knows what’s going on. It’s that simple. We want you to be tuned in to what's happening within the organization and across membership. And we use the various means at our disposal - email, texts, social media, EONY website – all so you can plan ahead and take advantage of what your membership offers— well beyond Forum.
As you can imagine, there’s a lot involved, and I couldn’t get it done without the help of an amazing team of dedicated EO’ers who turn ideas into actions. Here’s our game plan:
SOCIAL MEDIA: Our EO channels on
Facebook,
Twitter &
Instagram are maintained by
Dave Kerpen,
Marc Benjamin,
Dr. Chloe Carmichael and
Candy Schachat. FOLLOW US to stay on top of upcoming events, photos, relevant insights, members in the news, inspirational quotes, featured speakers and more - and help us spread the word by engaging with the posts and sharing what you see.
MONTHLY NEWSLETTER: Issued on the 15th of each month, the EO newsletter features member's birthdays and personal stories, upcoming myEO events, a board member’s message, and an EO offering included in your membership you may not be aware of. Missed a newsletter? No worries! They’re archived on our
website.
EMAILS: Beth and Ayeska are the true force behind these communications. Newly designed and branded, these daily alerts are what you need to know now with helpful links to upcoming events, connect to a coach, submit a new member as well as the full learning calendar on the website.
FORBES: What better PR for you and your business than to be published in Forbes.com!
Joe Beccalori continues to do a fantastic job maintaining our relationship with Forbes and submitting articles twice a month. So keep that content coming and get the exposure you deserve!
On a personal note, this truly has been a year of
Making Every Connection Count for me. Working with this tremendous group of people on the Board as well as the Communication committee, I have been inspired, energized, and pushed in ways I could not have anticipated. Thank you all, and as always, I welcome any suggestions or ideas to continue to make our chapter even better!
