Share your best wishes with Dawn

After 33 years with the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and nearly two decades as the leader of the Distance Learning Center, Executive Director Dawn Drake is retiring.
Drake wrote the grant that launched the DLC in 1997, and has been instrumental in the education of hundreds of students in the years since. She has led program development, contributed years of research and experience to the field, and created a legacy focused on education by founding the Dawn Drake Excellence in Distance Education Scholarship.
As we honor her time at the university, we want our students, faculty, and alumni to join in the celebration. Share your favorite memories or best wishes with Dawn as she prepares for her next chapter.

Differing paths lead to lifelong passions

Embarking on a singular path has never been William Yang’s style.
“Early on, I started into biological sciences and bioengineering. I wanted to pursue something that would allow me to create and innovate in the medical field,” Yang said. “Project management is a totally different world, and I kind of started to like it. It was more applicable to what I had been doing.”
