"Bridgeport Marks Arrival of Tri-State Biodiesel" - Fairfield County Business Journal
Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch and officials from Tri-State Biodiesel on Friday celebrated the start of construction on the company’s new manufacturing and distribution center in the Eco-Technology Park on the city’s West End.
The Bronx, N.Y.-based biofuel company expects to create 25 jobs targeted toward low-income residents within the first two years of operation, according to a city press release announcing the groundbreaking.
“In Bridgeport, we believe that cities need to take leadership on going green for the sake of future generations,” Finch said in a statement. “And we’re winning the future by developing Eco-Technology Park – an incubator for business growth and home to hundreds of green jobs – with the support of successful companies like Tri-State Biodiesel.”

"Discussion focuses on Ebola preparedness in area" - Bridgeport News

Mayor Bill Finch, health and medical officials and first responders met Oct. 22 to discuss further coordination of efforts and the sharing of information on plans to respond to any potential Ebola case in the area.

Finch hosted a roundtable exercise with representatives from Bridgeport Hospital, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Optimus Health Care, Southwest Community Health Center, American Medical Response, Bridgeport police, fire and health departments, Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center and 911 Center, among other agencies.

Hundreds of volunteers fanned out across Bridgeport to clean up, paint buildings and plant trees during the so-called Big Day of Serving.

More than 400 volunteers showed up Saturday to help transform city neighborhoods.
