Meals on Wheels Placemat
Wishing Everyone a Blessed Thanksgiving!
For each new morning with its light,
for rest and shelter of the night,
for health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
("Thanksgiving" by Ralph Waldo Emerson)
It is only appropriate that we have much to be thankful for this week:
Auction Thanks: It was a wonderful night celebrating our 25th auction year in the 23235! A BIG thank you to our incredible auction committee and to all of our auction volunteers, generous sponsors, donors and attendees. We are truly grateful for your support!
Lower School Food Drive Thanks: Our collection bags were full this week thanks to your generosity. Thank you to all of our families who made food contributions to the St. Michael's Church Food Pantry! (We will be collecting food until Tuesday morning, 11/24.)
Volunteer Thanks: from our families who helped make the NUTS play a success and spoiled all of our faculty with teacher treats, to our 7th grade Meals on Wheels drivers, Admission Open House helpers, classroom readers and more,  St. Michael's is the special place it is because of how our families give so freely of their time, treasure and talents. We are grateful and blessed by your support!
Be sure to check out our St M FACEBOOK and TWITTER pages for this week's posts on St. Michael's culture, curriculum and community.
eBooks!
The Thanksgiving holiday is a great time to curl up with a good book! Here is a link with a quick refresher on how students can access our eBook collection.
Please contact Mrs. Wise (cwise@stmschool.net) or Mrs. Ferguson (mferguson@stmschool.net) if you have any questions.
Our Turkeys are Dressed for Thanksgiving!
Our kindergarteners "dressed" their turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner, and we don't mean with stuffing! They then had to write stories about the fun characters they created! Gobble! Gobble!
Seventh Grade Service Learning
Feedmore/Meals on Wheels volunteers provide daily, nutritious home-delivered meals to over 1,800 eligible homebound neighbors (including seniors, the disabled or chronically ill adults) who cannot shop or cook for themselves. This week, our 7th grade students packed and delivered food to 70 homes, touching hearts, making connections and learning though service to others. This is St. Michael's eleventh year of service with Meals on Wheels!
A NUTTY Good Time!
Look out below! It's that time of year again... the big old oak trees are shedding their acorns all over the forest floor. This week's first grade play celebrated the circle of life as a host of comical nuts and animals took center stage. Complete with festive Brazil nuts, 'sneezing' cashews, macadamia nuts in grass skirts, muscular chestnuts and more, Mrs. Mitchell's first grade class gave a truly outstanding performance! (Be sure to check out our Facebook page for play photos and videos!)
Pizza! Pizza! Order Now!
If you didn't order Pizza Friday for the entire year, or if you missed the deadline for the fall order, now is the time to re-order Pizza!  Order forms have been sent home or are available online here.  The deadline for the receipt of the next order is tomorrow, Monday,  November 23rd.
Thanks for your support with this SMPA fundraiser. Contact Dave Lundgren  with questions.
