Nomination Form Illinois Latino Council on Higher Education (ILACHE) Leadership Award   The ILACHE Board of Directors invites nominations from our membership for our 2017-2018 ILACHE Leadership Awards. All the nominations will be reviewed by the conference committee and presented to the ILACHE Board for approval. Deadline is due no later than Thursday, February 1st, 2018 at 5PM.  Apply Here Obama Foundation Summer Internship The Obama Foundation has opened up the Summer Internship application for the Summer of 2018. The summer 2018 internship will run from May 29, 2018 to August 17, 2018. For students on the quarter system, the internship will run from June 18, 2018 to September 7, 2018. Interns will play a key role in providing departments at the Obama Foundation with the administrative, logistical, and operational assistance needed to execute their work. Arias Scholarship for Writers The Writing Scholarship is made possible through the sponsorship of Dr. Berta Arias, the founding president of the Illinois Latino Council on Higher Education. The award recognizes the academic and writing accomplishments of Latinos/as and encourages them to continue to integrate written communication as a central component of their professional and creative development. Deadline is on Tuesday, February 20th, 2018. Apply Here Chicago Cancer Health Equity Collaborative (CHEC) Research Fellowship Program This is a paid, full-time, summer research program in Chicago. The CHEC Fellows Program is a comprehensive learning experience for undergraduate students or postbaccalaureate students who are planning to apply to graduate or medical school. When: Friday, February 8th, 2018 Time: 3:00 - 5:00 PM Where: SCE Cardinal Room 329 Expanding Your Horizons 2018 Volunteer Opportunity In need of volunteer experience? The Expansing Your Horizons Chicago Conference will be held at UIC on Saturday, March 24th 2018. Register to become a volunteer.  Volunteers will be needed from approximately 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.(not all volunteer shifts will last all day). There will be breakfast, lunch, and a reception with food and refreshments for volunteers at the end of the day.  Volunteers will be expected to attend a mandatory orientation session a couple weeks before the conference at the University of Chicago.  The dates for training are Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. or Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 06:30 p.m.  We are in need of 120 volunteers to help the conference run smoothly.
