Announcing STAR Net's SEAL (Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries) Initiative!
In support of the 2023 and 2024 eclipses

Thanks to generous support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, STAR Net is able to distribute approximately 5 million eclipse glasses to public libraries across the country. In addition to glasses distribution, the initiative also includes:

  • In-person training in partnership with state libraries in every state, D.C., and US Territories and Protectorates
  • Circulating solar science kits for state libraries
  • An online community where you can partner with scientists and volunteers to conduct programs
  • Virtual training opportunities
  • And more exciting news to come!

The STAR Library Network (STAR Net) is a hands-on learning network for libraries and their communities across the country. STAR Net focuses on helping library professionals build their STEM skills by providing “science-technology activities and resources” (STAR) and training to use those resources.
