Greenheart Treewalk Open Today!

Greenheart Treewalk is now open for the season, and UBC Botanical Garden is excited to announce that we are back to our regular hours of 10:00am - 4:30pm.

As we look forward to the Greenheart Treewalk's reopening today, we sat down with Ian Green, one of the founders of Greenheart, to discuss the story behind this unique tree walk and its significance. In our conversation, Ian shares the inspiration and design process that brought the Treewalk to life, as well as the importance of connecting people with nature. By immersing guests in the forest canopy, the tree walk offers a rare opportunity to experience the natural world from a new perspective, helping visitors develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for the environment around them. Ah, April showers. Rain at this time of year is imbued with a certain lightness that predicts brighter conditions to come. While plenty of flowers are pending in May, April is undoubtedly the most important month for rhododendron viewing at UBC Botanical Garden.

In The Shop and Garden Centre

Seeds from the FOG Seed Collectors and Spring Perennials

The Friends of the Garden Seed Collectors, a dedicated group of volunteers, collect and dry unique seeds from over 170 plant varieties in the Botanical Garden. These seeds are sold exclusively in our Shop. Visit the Shop to explore these special seeds, carefully collected and prepared with love.

Our Garden Centre is stocked with perennials, shrubs, and trees grown by our Friends of the Garden volunteers. Early bloomers like Galanthus, Bergenia, and Pachyphragma macrophyllum are available, all grown by the 'Back 40' group. Their expertise ensures plants suited to our region and promotes biodiversity and pollinator-friendly gardening. Visit the Garden Centre to see what’s blooming this month!
