Congratulations to Dr. Lori Neuman-Lee, associate professor of physiology, who was awarded the Meritorious Teaching Award in Herpetology at the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists. Also, she conducted field and lab workshops for five institutions in Taiwan over the summer, focusing on measuring wildlife health. She presented research lectures at three universities regarding her research in reptile physiology, assessing stress in non-model organisms, and wildlife health.

Dr. Julie Morrow, station archeologist, Arkansas Archeological Survey, A-State Research Station, will present “Investigating Arson at Greenbrier” at the Spring River Gem and Mineral Club on Sept. 4. She will discuss the terminal Mississippian period Greenbrier site near Desha, along with its preparation for a training program next June. Archeologists from across the state will help determine if this location is possibly Coligua, a site mentioned in the Hernando de Soto chronicles.

Dr. H. Steve Leslie, associate professor, business communication, and associate dean for faculty affairs, presented research at the International Open and User Innovation Conference at Harvard Business School. Co-authored with Dr. Natalie Johnson-Leslie, the paper proposes a three-pillar framework for preparing AI-literate business graduates, built around evaluation, judgment and continuous learning. The framework addresses AACSB's 2026 Global Standards, which introduce new expectations for digital agility and ethical technology use in business education.
