Christin Thompson, Senior undergraduate Physcology major, Social Justice Immersion volunteer and Honor's Board Member, offers today’s reflection.
"Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live, by loving the LORD, your God,
heeding his voice, and holding fast to him. For that will mean life for you, a long life for you to live on the land that the LORD swore he would give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

What means a lot to me is that ELOHIYM has never changed His will or His drive, from the Old Testament to the New Testament. The hope that He gives the descendants of His people, which are the descendants of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, continues stably throughout His word all the way to Revelations. His words of guidance towards His people are to obey and to serve him, especially regarding his commandments which He has always set before them and before us. It is to keep Him first in our hearts and to not only put forth our words of affirmation towards Him, but our actions of utmost obedience to His laws and statutes.

These readings, to me, cause us to understand that YAHWEH, our ELOHIYM, simply wants us to choose life, which is ultimately obedience and servitude unto Him and His word. To keep His Holy laws which have never changed, and to pass them on from generation to generation unto our descendants. This is because He wishes us to choose a blessed life of prosperity by urging us to do the right thing, the thing by which we have been honored the chance to understand. Which is His word."
Think of ways you can effectively pass on to your descendants ELOHYIM's method for us to choose life and prosperity.

In what ways can we better serve ELOHIYM, keep his commandments, and walk in His ways in our daily life?
