CENTENNIAL SEASON Speaking Torah Podcast: Klezmer Music, Memoirs, and Letters from the Front
In the new season of Hebrew College's "Speaking Torah" podcast, Hankus Netsy and Cantor Becky Khitrik `14 explore the evolution of Klezmer music. In another episode, Hebrew College Trustee Dr. Susan Shevits reads letters written by World War II soldiers who were students at Hebrew Teacher's College. Graduate and Ordination Programs Dean Rabbi Dan Judson recently uncovered these letters, written to the College Registrar about the students' Jewish lives on the front. In the final episode of this season, Dr. Judith Kates, Margie Berkowitz, and Rabbi Art Green read memoirs by Rabbi Shayna Rhodes, Rabbi Daniel Klein, and Dr. Arnold Band from Hebrew College's forthcoming Centennial volume Hiddushim.

ICYMI: Branching Out. Building Together. Breaking Ground.
December 5 was a shehechiyanu moment for Hebrew College, our eight shared-campus partners and neighbors, and the Greater Boston Jewish community. We celebrated the groundbreaking of our new home in Auburndale, Newton to form a dynamic, interdisciplinary center of Jewish learning, leadership, community, and creativity. Together we have raised $13.2 million for our Capital Campaign—and that momentum continues.

In Memoriam: Leo Karas We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Leo Karas, longtime member of the Hebrew College Board of Trustees and generous supporter. He was a giant in the glass industry, having helped build and grow his family's multigenerational business, Karas & Karas Glass Company. May his family be comforted among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

CALL FOR ART ENTRIES FOR HEBREW COLLEGE'S CENTENNIAL EXHIBIT Hebrew College is looking for works of art for our centennial art exhibit, “Remember, Renew, Reimagine.” This exhibition will center on Torah, reflecting a variety of inspirations from its teaching, traditions, and rituals. Artists are invited to submit works in a variety of media. The curators will select works that demonstrate how artists in the Hebrew College community are actively “Remembering, Renewing, and Reimagining” the tradition through the visual arts (2D and 3D), poetry, music, and performances.
