From the Dean

I hope you are enjoying a restorative, restful summer. For some of our alumni, it’s been a busy one.

Raymond E. Jones (’86 ME), the vice president of ExxonMobil Production Company, began a four-year term this month as a director on the Clemson University Foundation Board of Directors. Two others have been elected to leadership positions with the board. Robert B. Hambright (’70 ME) will serve as chair, and Kenneth L. Smith (’81 ME) will be vice chair.

All three of these mechanical engineering alumni have received the college’s highest honor, induction into the Thomas Green Clemson Academy of Engineers and Scientists. I look forward with great anticipation as they focus their considerable energy and vision on advancing the university through the Clemson University Foundation Board. Thank you, and congratulations to all!
Sincerely,
Anand Gramopadhye, Dean
