Similar to national trends, chronic absenteeism rates in MNPS have doubled since the pandemic with a marked increase in elementary and middle schools.
PEER's Student Absenteeism Working Group recently launched three strands of research aimed at understanding the root causes of chronic absenteeism in MNPS, learning from success stories for student attendance, and identifying and learning from schools beating the chronic absenteeism odds.
