Honorlock to replace Respondus Lockdown Browser, Monitor
Honorlock is a browser-based test proctoring service for online exams. It will replace Respondus Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor. Included with Honorlock is Search & Destroy, a service that searches for your test questions on third-party websites and sends takedown requests.
Faculty are invited to begin the transition from Respondus to Honorlock. A faculty guide and a student guide are available.

From the associate dean of research
Consider the Community Guide as you plan training programs and community interventions: The Community Guide is a valuable resource for evidence-based intervention approaches that providers and NGOs can use to improve health in their communities. It can also be used in your coursework and training programs and can inform your research proposals. It houses more than 250 active evidence-based recommendations of the Community Preventive Task Force (CPSTF) for intervention approaches that address more than 20 public health topics. Congratulations to our CPH faculty for 6 new project awards and 12 proposal submissions this summer!  Michael Bloom received a grant to study “The Impact of Exposure to Perfluoroalkyl Substances on Weight Loss,” while Megumi Inoue was funded for “Group Digital Gaming: Experiences of Older Adults Living with Dementia.” More information is coming on the other awards. And, we have another 18 proposals in the queue as of last week.
 
Sustainable development and the 2030 UN Agenda. The Carter School is hosting a workshop and training by Omar Hernández, program manager of the United Nations Academic Impact and Public Information officer, on September 22 at 12 pm. The topics are an introduction to sustainable development and the 2030 UN Agenda, the role of higher education in advancing it, ideas for implementation on campus and similar. Register here.

Mason Faculty Matters Workshop: Aligning Your Time and Priorities

The Faculty Matters series, co-sponsored by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Development and Research Development, is designed to address key issues central to faculty development and success. The first session, Aligning Your Time and Priorities, focuses on creating realistic goals to achieve a productive semester. This Zoom workshop is on Wednesday, September 13, from 1:30 to 3 pm. Registration is required.

Faculty annual performance reviews
Deadline: September 18
Annual performance reviews for all tenure-line and term faculty are due on September 18 and will cover the period August 1, 2022 - July 31, 2023. If you have any questions about term faculty and tenure-line faculty annual performance reviews, please refer to the faculty handbook (located here - left hand margin).
