Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,
As we are settling into the new school year, I hope you and your family remain well and your children are adapting to the school routine. Feedback from school communities and researches have repeatedly documented the need in addressing the well-being needs of our students as they reintegrate into their classes under the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
In recognizing the value of arts education and the importance of parent engagement in supporting our students’ social, physical, intellectual, and emotional growth and wellbeing, I initiated an Arts Education Workgroup with a parent committee in 2017. Various projects, collectively called Arts Intersections, were developed over the years including the well-received Arts Bus Tour.
This year, to further the vision of the Arts Intersections project, I have collaborated with a local non-profit arts collective, Culture/Shift, and bring to you a free online after school arts program for families with children 6 – 10 years old: Arts Beyond the Pages. Detail information can be found here: bit.ly/about-abp. Please note that the application deadline is at 11:59 pm on November 8, 2021.
I look forward to your participation at Arts Beyond the Pages. Please connect with me anytime if you would also like to join me and other parents at the Arts Education Parents Committee.
Sincerely,
Manna
