TSA ConfirmID fee for non‑REAL ID flyers |
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced that, starting on Sunday, Feb. 1, travelers who arrive at airport security without a REAL ID or another acceptable form of identification will have the option to complete an alternative identity‑verification process through the new TSA ConfirmID program.
This optional service comes with a $45 fee to cover the cost of identity verification for passengers who lack compliant ID.
| |
Travelers choosing this option should anticipate additional screening and delays of up to 30 minutes. Paying the fee does not guarantee that your identity can be verified or that you will be allowed to fly. Also note that this $45 fee is not reimbursable using state funds, as it results from a traveler’s failure to present acceptable identification.
To avoid the fee and streamline your experience, TSA strongly encourages passengers to bring a valid REAL ID or another approved form of identification to the airport.
A full list of TSA-approved identification types is available on the TSA website.

New Staff Senate Quarterly Survey is now open |
The Radford University Staff Senate has launched a new quarterly staff survey, replacing the previous annual satisfaction and morale survey. This shorter survey includes 10 questions and is designed to help the Senate more consistently understand staff experiences, concerns and needs throughout the year.
The survey is administered through Watermark Insights, the same system the university uses for course surveys, and responses are completely anonymous. All staff should have received an emailed survey invitation directly from Watermark Insights.
The goal of this survey is to provide a consistent way for staff voices to be heard throughout the year.
