Annual Report

2018 Library Annual Report

Over 1 million visits to our five different locations, over 1.3 million borrowed physical items, 26,000 cardholders, 23,000 volunteer hours, thousands of attendees at story times, and so much more!
BPL boasts some VERY impressive numbers in our 2018 Annual Report. It was one of our busiest years yet and we are proud to share all those numbers with you!

Pluto in 3D

Now till the end of summer
Grab a pair of 3D glasses and check out Pluto and its largest moon, Charon! Through a very generous extended loan from the Southwest Research Institute, Main currently has four posters in 3D. Pluto and its features are displayed in the Arapahoe entrance and Charon is in Teen Space. George Reynolds Branch also has a high-resolution, full-color poster of Pluto on display until the end of the summer.

The photos displayed were taken by the New Horizons interplanetary space probe in a series of deep space flybys. The posters include more information about the missions and images.
Art Exhibitions

Climate Ribbon
July 5 to Aug. 28, Arapahoe Ramp @Main

The Climate Ribbon is a global interactive story-sharing ritual for climate hope and healing. The power of the project is rooted in a very simple yet profound question: What do you love and hope to never lose to climate chaos? People write what they love and could lose due to climate change. Come add your story and check out what others have written.

Civic Soup

Thursday, July 11, 5:30-7 p.m., Mt. Sanitas Room @Main

Civic Soup is part of Building Bridges, which is a collaboration between the city and the community to provide a space to connect and engage in conversations. Join us for an informal drop-in event to chat during a communal soup meal. The theme for July is to talk about the holidays. If you could create a holiday what would it be?  We’ll chat about what celebrations we, as a community, want to dream up.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
