| Welcome Grow Serve Celebrate
| |
| Sunday, May 18, we welcomed Jennifer and Jeff Heath into membership at Parkway Hills and announced Jennifer’s upcoming hire as part-time interim Director of Children and Family
Ministries. Jennifer has a background in early childhood education, spiritual development, and
team building. She worked in churches for eighteen years with week-day and after school care and children and family ministries. Most recently she served with the Alluvial Collective,
formerly the William Winter Institute, in community building programs. She is passionate
about allowing every person to have their worth and value appreciated and recognized. She
strives to be a “Community Helper” who does what she can to make the world a better place.
Jennifer will begin shadowing Rev. Haven Boyd June 1 as we work toward a smooth transition
as Haven leaves for her next ministry steps the end of June.
Jennifer and Jeff have two daughters, Maddie, currently in Veterinary school at MS State, and
Wesley Kate who joined Parkway Hills upon profession of faith in 2023 and is one of our 2025 High School graduates. Jeff serves as the Assistant Principal at Madison Central High School. He's jumped right in at PHUMC, helping with our broadcast booth.
We hope you will send Jennifer and Jeff a warm welcome.

It is time for our annual Women's Ministry Plant Swap. Bring a snack to share, a plant to swap, and come enjoy an evening of fellowship and connection tomorrow--Thursday, May 22 at 5:30 pm. Not a plant person? That's okay! You can pick up a plant at the store, or a pot, or really anything and join in the fun, or you can just come hang out. Judy Porter has agreed to host this year. Reach out to her for directions and we will see you there.
The goal of Parkway Hills' Women's ministry is to provide opportunities for creating community for the women of the church and to reflect on ways the women of the church can serve our community. If you have ideas on ways we can live into this mission, let Pastor Dawn know.

Day of Service Saturday, June 14
Serve is one of the core values of Parkway Hills, and we begin every worship by claiming we are a mission-minded congregation. We do a great job living into this vision with our various ministries. Saturday, June 14, we will offer a Church-Wide Day of Service, giving everyone another opportunity to serve, and we hope you find a way to plug in. The day will focus on ways to serve the church as well as our local community. You may sign up here or via the clipboard in the back of the Worship Center. Opportunities include: Habitat Faith Build (10 volunteers for the morning shift), aiding Pastor Haven with VBS Decorating, Big House Books, and church building and grounds to include cleaning out the basement and cleaning up the firepit area. You will hear a little about each project in worship in the coming weeks.
