Face Covering Policy Update:
Now that more than 70% of UP employees and residential students have been vaccinated, the University’s face covering policy is changing. If you’ve provided proof of full vaccination to the University, you are no longer required to wear a face covering while on campus. (Face coverings are still required for everyone inside the Health & Counseling Center.) If you have not provided proof of full vaccination to the University, please continue wearing your face covering indoors and in crowded outdoor areas. All are encouraged to wear a face covering if they have a compromised immune system, if they feel more comfortable doing so, or to protect the vulnerable. Remember, please don’t inquire about the vaccination status of others or speculate as to an individual’s reason for wearing a mask.
These recommendations are consistent with current CDC face covering guidelines. The full text of the University’s Face Covering (Mask) Policy can be found on the Pilot’s Prevent website. UP will continue to monitor public health guidelines and the vaccination rate of our community, and will reassess the face covering policy on August 16.
