Low Positivity Rate

Since the start of the pandemic, UC San Diego has drawn upon its unique strengths to help keep our campus community as safe as possible. The overall positivity rate for UC San Diego students on and off campus is 0.2%, a number far below the positivity rate in San Diego County, which averages just below 3%.

Q&A: Student Socializing, Recreation and Travel

Students can learn more about how to safely socialize on campus, what happens if residential students must travel off-campus for an extended period, outdoor recreation classes offered and study spaces available.

Question: Will the campus COVID-19 testing site hours change during the holiday?
Answer: Yes, there will be changes to COVID-19 testing site hours during the holidays. Upcoming Price Center testing site hours will be adjusted as so:
Veterans Day
Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020: Closed
Saturday – Sunday, Nov. 21-22, 2020: Open from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Monday – Wednesday, Nov. 23-25, 2020: Open from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thanksgiving
Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020: Closed
Friday, Nov. 27, 2020: Closed
Saturday – Sunday, Nov. 28-29, 2020: Open 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Question: How soon should I receive my COVID-19 test result from UC San Diego Health?
Answer: If your result is positive, you will usually receive a phone call from a health professional within 24 hours. If your result is negative, you will receive a notification in MyStudentChart (students) or MyChart (employees) usually within 24 hours. Students who have not received their results within 48 hours should call Student Health Services at 858-534-3300. Employees who have not received their results within 48 hours should call the Testing Support Line at 619-543-8260.
