In case you missed it: Watch PSU Administrative Briefing |
More than 350 people attended the PSU Administrative Briefing — either virtually or in person — last Thursday. A variety of PSU leaders provided updates on budget, strategic planning, construction, campus safety, human resources, upcoming events and more. They answered questions submitted ahead of the event, as well as questions during the event from the chat and the in-person audience. A recording of the briefing and the slide deck are available on the new Employee Events webpage (housed under the Currently news hub). Please provide feedback that can help inform the planning of future employee events such as this.

PSU Strategic Planning progress report |
With a deadline quickly approaching to finalize the strategic plan in June, here is an update from the various work groups, which are made up of PSU faculty, staff, students, community members and trustees:
|
-
Mission, Vision, Values: After developing the guiding principles of the strategic planning process, the group is now examining the feedback from the Heart of PSU survey and the February forums to begin drafting our mission, vision and Guiding Commitments.
-
External Market: This group is digging deep into data to see what’s happening outside of our campus: how the markets are shifting, what opportunities are popping up for different student groups, and where career paths may be shifting.
-
Value Proposition: Building on what the External Market group has found and on the feedback from the Heart of PSU survey and the campus forums, this group is working on crafting PSU’s value propositions. They will be tested in focus groups in April.
-
PSU in 2030 and Milestones: This group is still forming and establishing its charge. The work of the group is to take the value propositions and core values to put together a picture of what PSU will look like in 2023. This group will also be seeking input and feedback during the April focus groups.

An in-depth update from Vice President of Public Affairs and Chief of Staff Sheila Martin can be viewed at the 14 minute mark of the Administrative Briefing video.
